Fatal Attraction of Inducing Consumption

The recent advertisement of a leading Tea Brand in India to make people aware of their voting right and the need to set accountability of Public Servant, minister, politician was much appreciated by all and sundry.

The second phase of ad campaign asked people to stop paying bribes and very cleverly asked consumers to offer Tea as a DRINK instead of money etc in form of bribe. It was a good pun on the current social norms of getting work done by others.

BUT the third leg of that campaign says to offer A particular Brand of BHUJIA along with promoted Brand of Tea. I feel the beauty of Campaign created by earlier two campaigns is lost as marketer could not get away from the FATAL ATTARCTION OF INDUCING CONSUMPTION in his campaign and to me the beauty and pun of the campaign set earlier got evaporated with current campaign.

Please, Don’t waste the soul of a very effective and lasting Brand recall campaign by getting attracted to small benefits of promoting products.

Age of Judgement

It was shocking to read in newspaper headline that average time taken for a court case in India is 15 year.

No wonder why corruption is so wide spread and unending evil in Indian Society. People committing crime are taking benefit of this long drawn process of judicial system and playing with Law.

If the proposed initiative to set up 5000 new fast track court is materialised with an objective to reduce the judgement time from 15 years to 1 year by year 2012. If this objective is achieved I am sure Indian Society will get the much needed relief from corruption in Judicial and allied process related to Judicial and Police, Political system, politicians, and even masses will get a relief and hope to get the justice faster and in relevant time.

We will stop reading news like 20 lacs compensation paid to people who served jail for allegation of murder but eventually found that the person said to murdered found p living hail and hearty.

I welcome the proposed initiative like Gram Nyayalayas, 3 shift working for courts to clear the backlog of 2.75 crore legal cases, fixing of 6 month time frame a verdict from the date of filing of case till decision. Clubbing of Identical cases will also ease the pressure of pending cases.

The thought to providing Laptops to Trial court judges is a positive and much needed action. This will certainly help them to act fast and effectively.

On the whole the propose initiatives are great and needed to be welcome by all of us. I am sure these efforts will help India more progressive and pressure of corruption can be checked.

Politics of Economy Class

Penny wise Pound foolish; I feel the current controversy over ministerial expenses over official tours, staying etc has gain momentum without any real time concern by these shouting mass who is pretending to be very upright in discharging their duties and working as per laid down norms.

Mr Shashi Tharoor may be wrong in occupying expensive hotel room, but there are many others who are spending government money without a second thought. The “Cattle Class” remark is not in good taste, the point is taken but many senior leaders occupying government properties without their entitlement or expiry of their entitlement should also be criticised and views in same spirit.

Some odd trips by Mrs Sonia Gandhi and Mr Rahul Gandhi in economy class will certainly make people think before spending government and tax payers’ money. It is a positive gesture shown by them and needed to be followed by all MPs and other senior government officials.

Why we always want to learn on others mistakes OR realise when others draw attention to a mistake committed? Why can we be UPRIGHT from the start and be governed by our self-consciousness towards important aspects of life?

As they say preaching is easier than doing, we should make right efforts to set examples for others to follow. This can be the simple logic here.

Why Strikes are so common in India?

I wonder why we face so many strikes in India. Everyday we find one or other services on offer by government even by private sector are on strike. These striking parties or groups can be doctors, engineers, civil servants, lawyers, drivers, pilots, etc. you name any profession and I bet that group has utilise this STRIKE as weapon to make his point.

Why these strikes happen? I feel we Indians have become so aloof to others concern that until that person takes some strong retaliatory action we never notice his genuine or otherwise need. OR we have stopped being responsible enough to discharge our duties properly. If we are performing as defined no body should feel short of services obtained by him.

These doctors, lawyers, drivers, pilots, bankers etc never think of problem caused to others. They or all others on strike or planning a strike to make their Point understood by concerned authorities should think of other manner to make their felt by concerned. BUT they should never stop their work and cause loss to their organisation, society, nation and ultimately to themselves.

They can launch awareness program through media, publicity, protests with badges, walks on Sunday or holidays, even after office hours, I am confident if public comes to know their this productive protest for genuine demands every single person would join them irrespective of his/her profession.

India got liberated not because only politicians were fighting the battle, actually all and sundry were together for one common cause. So, my simple IQ says don’t go for strike based on your profession, make your point in public and let the public help you. Public will join you if they know your demands are genuine and you are respecting public’s need and not discontinuing your services.

May people understand this simple logic.

Clouds over Indian Sunrise Industries

Prior to current recession two sectors were said to be sunrise industries in India, namely Retail and Insurance. All the big names like Reliance, Birla, Bharti, Biyanis, RPG were making every effort possible under the sun to have a substantial pie of the Retail Market of India.

Everyone of these big business conglomerate were having ambitious expansion plans and recruitments were on full pace. But all of sudden every thing is on put on back burner. Marketers are trying to consolidate the business first and they are having a re-look on their strategy. Most of them adopted wait and watch policy.

People were cherishing high salaries and plenty of work opportunities, people were being recruited in hundreds, and mind it these positions were not limited to metros, people were recruited for B and C class towns too.

But then came the recession and came the jolt. All expansion plans got stopped or delayed for indefinite time; people hired were either retrenched or were asked to go far off places to save their jobs. All of sudden party was over. Salaried got shrunk to half in many cases.

But India Proved again that being conservative makes you win many a times too, and the conservative economy of India has sustained this global slowdown with lesser pain. Things are moving up again and faster in India as compared to other countries.

People are getting hopeful again to have better job and business prospects. Many other allied industries like training, placement, job consultancy have started getting positive feedbacks from their clients. Hiring in sales function has started for freshers too, earlier hiring were done to fill existing posts getting vacant by people movements.

I hope, the Retail Boom will again start making its presence felt. Indian consumers will make India overcome this mild jolt of recession during the forthcoming festive period. I wish all the consumer products companies to announce heft sales during the October, November and December 2009.

Year 2010 should bring all round prosperity to India and every INDIAN. I have this simple logic this time.

Love Jungle, Save Forest

I want to thank people behind the TV shows like Is jungle se mujhe ...... they have make people look the better side of forests. they have made people realise that jungle are the place that can be used to search sprituality, simliplicity and vulnerability of humans.
They make you humble, as they take away your taodays comforts and make you learn to live with nature.
I feel we all should help government in saving jungle and increase forest cover.
